Rights and Duties of Co-Tenants
Each co-tenant is entitled to possession of the whole. A co-tenant collecting rent from third parties must account to co-tenants for their shares. A co-tenant paying more than their share of carrying costs (taxes, mortgage) may seek contribution. No co-tenant owes rent to co-tenants for personal occupancy absent ouster.
