Types of Leasehold Estates
The four leasehold estates are: (1) tenancy for years (fixed duration, ends automatically); (2) periodic tenancy (successive periods, continues until proper notice given); (3) tenancy at will (terminable by either party at any time); and (4) tenancy at sufferance (holdover after lawful tenancy expires).
