Foreclosure

Foreclosure terminates the mortgagor's equity of redemption. Judicial foreclosure (sale under court supervision) is universally available; nonjudicial foreclosure (power of sale) is available where authorized by statute. The foreclosure sale discharges junior liens but does not affect senior liens.
